Commercial trucking insurance — owner-operators to fleets

From one truck under your own authority to a growing fleet, we cover the operation. Commercial auto liability, physical damage, motor truck cargo and the rest — shopped across trucking markets by an agent who spent 40 years in the trucking industry and knows what your business actually faces on the road.

🚛 Older truck? We've got a market for you.

Driving a 2006-or-older truck and keep hearing "no"? A lot of carriers — especially the 1-800 and online ones — won't touch older equipment. Our trucking markets will. High-mileage workhorse or an older rig that still earns its keep, we'll shop it and get you covered. Don't park a truck that can still make you money because one website said no — call 573-594-5148.

Who we cover

Standard markets shy away from new authority and one-truck operations. We don't. Whether you're just getting your authority or running a yard full of trucks, we shop it.

Owner-operators

Under your own authority or leased on — including non-trucking/bobtail when you're off dispatch.

New authority & hot shot

Under a year in business or running a hot-shot rig? We work markets that say yes when others pass.

Motor carriers & small fleets

From a second truck to a full fleet, scheduled with consistent coverage and one point of contact.

For-hire & specialty

Local, regional, or long-haul; dry van, reefer, flatbed, and specialty hauls — matched to the right market.

Older & high-mileage trucks

2006 and older, high miles, or an aging rig — we work markets that write the equipment others decline.

An agent who's been around trucks his whole life

BNW Services LLC is a licensed independent agency, and Billy E. Whited — a licensed insurance producer with BNW — spent 40 years in the trucking industry. He knows authority and FMCSA, the difference between primary liability and non-trucking, what a reefer claim looks like, and why the cheapest cargo limit can leave you exposed. When you call, you're not explaining your operation to a call center — you're talking to someone who's lived it.

One agent, a real trucking market

Independent means we shop dedicated trucking and commercial-auto carriers — including markets built for owner-operators, new authority, and fleets — instead of forcing your rig into one company's box. We match the operation to the carrier that actually wants it.

Local trucking insurance — built around your lanes

Kansas City is one of the nation's largest freight and logistics hubs, and we're right in the middle of it. We cover owner-operators and fleets running the corridors you run — I-70, I-35, I-44 and I-435 across Missouri and Kansas, up I-29 through St. Joseph toward Omaha, and east to Nashville and Memphis on I-40. Billy spent 40 years around Kansas City and St. Joseph trucking — he knows the lanes, the yards, and the operations that run them.

Serving truckers in Kansas City, St. Joseph, Columbia, Springfield & Joplin (MO); Wichita, Topeka & Overland Park (KS); Omaha & Lincoln (NE); and Nashville, Memphis & Knoxville (TN) — and every town in between.

Trucking insurance questions

Do you insure owner-operators and single trucks, or only fleets?

Both — one truck under your own authority, leased on, or a growing fleet. We shop the market to fit the operation.

What coverages does trucking insurance include?

Core: auto liability, physical damage, and motor truck cargo. Plus non-trucking/bobtail, trailer interchange, general liability, workers comp or occupational accident, and excess/umbrella as you need them.

What is non-trucking liability (bobtail)?

It covers your truck when driven without a load and not under dispatch — filling the gap a motor carrier's policy leaves when you're off-duty.

Can you write new authority and hot shot?

Yes — we work markets that write new-authority (under 1–2 years) and hot-shot operations many standard carriers decline. Send your authority date, equipment, and radius.

What is motor truck cargo insurance?

It covers the freight you haul against loss or damage — usually required by shippers and brokers. The right limit and commodity coverage depend on your lanes.

Can you insure an older truck — 2006 or older?

Often, yes. Many carriers, especially direct and online ones, decline trucks past a certain age or mileage. We work markets that write older equipment — so if you've been turned down for an older rig, call us before you give up; we'll shop it.

Do you write trucking insurance in the Kansas City area?

Yes — Kansas City and St. Joseph are home base, and we cover owner-operators and fleets across the KC metro and the I-70, I-35 and I-29 corridors, plus greater Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Tennessee.

Which states do you write in?

Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Tennessee, with the deepest trucking appetite in Missouri and Kansas. Tell us where your authority is based and we'll confirm the markets.
